Jan Gassner's work is inspired by her interest folk art, design and color. It often includes some of her favorite animals such as birds, rabbits and chickens. For five years, Gassner painted horses for the Salem Riverfront Carousel Project. Working from her studio, she is constantly inspired by a collection of folk art, wood carvings and colorful paintings and ceramics. |

Ann Altman, a creator of colorful and whimsical work, has participated in many regional shows, including Best of the Northwest and Art in the Pearl. She was invited to be the poster artist for the Salem Art Fair & Festival's 50th Anniversary in 1999. Her work is part of several private collections and has been included in national publications. About her work, Altman says, "My visual world is broken up into shapes and color. The images arise out of a place in my mind that is full of pictures, dreams, archetypes, things I have seen and learned." |
