Ironically, sometimes we must look at representations of the place we live to realize the beauty of it. As you view the new acrylic landscape paintings by Paul Strauch,  you will be reminded of the rugged and delicate natural environment that surrounds us.  Strauch has experimented with new palettes, creating a subtle shift in his style, while maintaining his characteristic layering of intense colors to portray these large, bold and brilliant images of the Willamette Valley.

"An art major in college, I believed the forecast for artists in business. So instead of following my heart, I was lured away into corporate advertising and marketing for 14 years," says acrylic painter Paul Strauch. In 1990 he took some time off from the corporate world to do some painting. Since then he has created original, hand crafted pieces for galleries, fine craft stores and catalogues. One of Salem's great talents, Strauch's work is beautiful, color drenched and inspired. His work may be found in various collections throughout the Northwest and beyond."
