"Door Jam"
May 6 - 31, 2003
Artist Reception: Wednesday, May 7

Special Reception at Bank of theCascades

“Show someone to the door” will take on a whole new meaning at the Mary Lou Zeek Gallery and neighboring businesses in May. Mary Lou Zeek has created a passage for the community to view contemporary art throughout historic Salem. 18 accomplished Oregon artists were invited to creatively-infuse standard wooden doors with their own design interpretations for the upcoming show.

The gallery and participating businesses will present the new works of art during the month-long “Door Jam,” a self-guided, door to door walking tour.

This business collaboration hinges on Zeek’s determination to connect the Salem community to the visual arts, however the key to its success is her flair for innovation. “Downtown Salem is poised for an exciting revitalization and this business partnership places the arts at its threshold,” says Zeek of the positive impact of this show.
