A Group show to benefit the Oregon Coalition Against Domestic & Sexual Violence |

"Artists working
simultaneously to increase public awareness It started last year, as an idea to involve 100 artists. Friends and strangers agreed to the challenge, to participate in a mail art show to raise awareness of domestic and sexual violence. Each artist was mailed a 5" x 7" scratch board (like the one right). Beginning with the same, simple, stark format they were asked to create with no restraints during one week in February. Artists around the country working simultaneously, creating in peace. |

For some, it revealed personal statements of silent memories. Others stepped up with images of strength and messages of hope. Visit the Mary Lou Zeek Gallery to witness their striking and inspiring, Artful Sentiments. Click on an image for a detail of this sampling of artists. All the pieces are being sold in a silent auction. Bidding starts at $50. A bid of $200 stops the bidding and buys the piece. We will have an auction notebook to place the bids and you can call us with questions or a bid at 503.581.3229. We are unable to accept bids via email. The pieces will remain on the wall until April 30th and then will be removed to expose a message about sexual violence.
Since April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month, the show will benefit the Oregon Coalition Against Domestic & Sexual Violence. This non-profit organization provides assistance to programs around the state that serve victims of domestic and sexual violence and seeks to change societal conditions that cause violence to exist.
